>>>Let's see....two or three times you've claimed I didn't own stock when in fact I did. You claimed to be a Republican in an election when you were not. I call that lying.<<<

Aleta, the record will reflect when I said you owned or did not own, it was in follow-up to the most recent pronouncement you had posted. Believing you were consistent and always told us when you bought and sold--remember, you like to boost--I made my comments according to what I understood, as you had announced your current position to be. That's not a lie. It's nit-picky stuff to go back and check. But if anyone does, that's what they'll find. If you bought or sold and didn't announce it, but had a statement indicating otherwise on the public threads, then there's no way I would know. No lie there, Aleta. None.

On the other matter? It's a historical fact that I was a member of the Republican Party for the 1990 New Hampshire 1st District congressional seat. There were "Seven Dwarf" Republican candidates who had announced before I did. I joined their race and returned the favor they put upon the Democrats when N.H. Republicans tagged the seven Democratic presidential primary candidates "Seven Dwarves."

I even have, on my wall, a framed editorial cartoon of my "Seven Dwarf" opponents marching over a footbridge about to break, while they were heading into a cave that had a darkened entrance with white lettering highlighting issues these candidates couldn't come to grips with.

My friend and colleague who I respected was running on the Democratic side, he had run well the previous time and deserved a second shot. I wasn't going to challenge his good prospects. Having served two full terms I decided not to run for my state rep seat again, unable to easily survive on NH's legislative salary of $100 a year.

Since I knew I wasn't going to win the Republican nomination, it was my way out, my last hurrah, so to speak. In this campaign I highlighted studying drug legalization policies rooted in a public health approach as an alternative to the current wasteful spending inherent to treating drug problems criminally.

After I lost the election I knew I would, I changed my party registration back to Democrat and retreated to my friend's 200-acre farmhouse where I harvested late November vegetables. Early the next spring, I packed up and brought my guitar to Harvard Square where I became a performing street musician--a step up, by the way!

My beliefs are such that I wish we had more than a two-party system. I don't like the Republican position at all; I like some of the Democratic position; and I like some of the Libertarian position. I'm not a communist nor do I define myself as a socialist, but admit I like some socialist positions, particularly concerning health care.

Essentially, I say right on to the guy who invented the hula-hoop, the rubric cube and the pet rock, etc. But damn the creep(s) who deprives health, food, shelter and self-determination to others. What's that called? Even I don't know. I guess maybe I'm an Apolloniousist--my new hero of late.

In any event, I've never lied on my party affiliation. Why would I? That's ridiculous, wouldn't you say? So no, Aleta, no lie there either. I think it's time for you to retract again, and maybe finally admit that this is all borne out of your prejudice and continued vendetta against me and nothing else. Just as was your verbal assualt on the "cracker" issue.

My advice? Why don't you practice tolerance? Heck, you've tried to find more things against me than Jon Tara has against Zulu. It doesn't make sense. What you guys do, team up and say: I'll pick on Zulu while you pick on PartyTime. Quit it, will ya? You're both out of bounds!
