Time to Publish Issue With Pfizer as Sole Sponsor, Times Says Bloomberg News November 16, 1998, 9:28 a.m. ET New York, Nov. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Time Warner Inc.'s Time magazine will publish an issue with Pfizer Inc. as the sole sponsor, the first time the magazine has had a single advertiser in a regularly scheduled issue, the New York Times reported. Time's special projects editor, Barrett Seaman, said in no way would Pfizer help to shape the issue, ''The Future of Medicine,'' scheduled to be the magazine's first issue of 1999. Mark Whitaker, the editor of Washington Post Co.'s Newsweek, said he was dismayed at recent decisions at Time that he said may make the separation between editorial and advertising priorities unclear, the paper said. Time Warner will pay No. 1 Internet service America Online Inc. several million dollars as part of an agreement to place its online edition of People magazine exclusively on AOL, an analyst said last month.
