>>>PartyTime: Reasonable people don't accuse, with no evidence whatsoever, someone else of being a liar--the evidence you attempted to cite proves differently and you've delivered no quotes to support your claim.<<< Aleta: Sorry you lose on this one completely. You admitted here that you registered as a Republican after having held office as a Democrat to get even with the GOP in your state for something they had done to the Democrats earlier. That is the very essence of a lie. You didn't really believe the Republican platform, you just claimed to be one for your own agenda. That, no matter how you wish to try and paint it, is a lie. <<< Aleta, I'm surprised at you. Actually, no I'm not--it's standard fare for you. America is a free country and among its greatest attributes is the freedom of speech. Toward this comes the freedom to belong to whatever political party one chooses. And what are political parties for? The expression of ideas. Now, if I wish to bring my debate into the belly of the beast--New Hampshire's Republican Party, for instance--do I have the freedom to do so? I know you Republicans are hot on pledges and contracts and all that kind of stuff. But I assure you that I took no pledge and made no lie when I joined the Republican Party, explicitly to express my viewpoint against seven challengers who I tagged as "The Seven Dwarfs," as Republicans so tagged seven Democratic challengers in the 1988 N.H. Presidential Primary. What's the matter? Do you fail to find humor in this? The editorial cartoonist certainly did. But the fact of the matter, Aleta, is that you don't know beans about New Hampshire politics. Since the 60s, its been completely dominated and controlled the state's political system, the last state in the nation to pass Martin Luther King holiday legislation. Now, if you had a good argument to make could it not be considered strategic, or a good move even, to bring that debate into the arena where most will listen? I'm sorry, Aleta, but your attempt to turn my candidacy into a lie is a prime example of where you do distort, even though you deny you would ever distort anything. The Pat Hayton imposter thing was a distortion as well. Aleta, check the mirror--there should be an apology in there somewhere. I'm starting to feel sorry for you. You keep accusing me of all these things which are not true. Let me give you one that will pass muster: I have bad table manners. I use my knife and fork and don't take the time to switch the fork into my right hand before I take my bite. I know this is a terrible thing I do, and please don't hold it against me. You see, I have valid excuses: a) Like a real conservative Republican, I don't want to be wasteful by taking all that time to switch the fork into the other hand; b) I'm usually very hungry and like to eat as quick as possible; and c) I'm ambidextrous and it doesn't matter (I even shave with two razors at the same time). Well, now you've got something on me: Bad table manners! Run with it, Aleta. I know it'll help give Zulu a bad name.
