I am really lousy at keeping track of time but I believe it was about 3 years ago that I had to fly in for a production meeting. We had to work the weekend. We are in this meeting on 5th ave on a Sunday and it start to snow....alot. Snow snow snow so much snow that by the time we left that night there were no cabs, no cars, no people. We had a dinner scheduled with some buyers that had come in to town early but no restaurants were open due to the storm. We found that our regular near the office spot was open but all kinds of garment business people were going there. Only a few people showed up for work at the restaurant due to the storm so the coat check girl was the bartender the busboys were the waiters and what ever cooks/chefs showed up did the cooking. AND we had a ball. It forced people at different tables to talk to each other (competitors) because the service was so slow (we did manage to get to the booze).

We walked home in snow drifts thigh high. The next morning no cars or cabs could get into the city so everyone walked ....straight down the middle of 5th Ave. Several people skied past me. We were all running to buy those throw away cameras so we could catch this once in a life time event.

What a trip.
