E*TRADE To Offer Level II Quotes To Active Traders:

Post Excerpt:

Well they said that this was offered to "active traders". If you made between over 30 trades between June 1 - September 30, they offered the "Power E*Trade Gold" which included some screens for tracking your day trading portfolio, and over 75 trades was "Power E*Trade Platinum" which included the Pulse system with free Level II quotes etc. Also included was real-time account info updates, and a priority toll-free customer support number. However, when I tried to launch it today they said that it would take a couple of days to activate for my account, so I haven't been able to use it yet.

Gary,

Again stressing the importance of various routing/execution options. Sometimes some work, sometimes they dont, but you need to have your options and know when to use them.

Given the liquidity of dell and prevalence of ECN's always being on the bid, offer, why didnt you try the autoex for a second then go to an ECN as a backup?

That trade cost you a few bucks, which could have gone a long way towards a place with better fills.
