Curtis, it's not a lack of faith in Disney, but whether the synergy will bear out in profitability within a medium wholly foreign to Disney has yet to be seen.

Not to say it won't happen, but that's like saying that because Disney makes good cartoons it would be major player in the soda market if it puts its name on a cola with a picture of Dumbo. Could it happen? Sure. Is it a lock? No.

In the meantime, people who play online know the yhoo marque just like cartoon watchers know the Disney name. Excite spent its money on buying eyeballs. Yahoo invented the medium. Seek is trying to borrow the credibility of Disney to move itself from the ranks of the also-rans into a significant entity. I believe it will help. Whether it is enough to make the difference shall be seen. But watching the price of yhoo makes me wonder what anyone could do to displace it as the owner of the net.
