Hi Jon,

Your post, IMHO, summarizes the overall tenor of this thread and the one on RB. As I "lurk" through the posts, I find one thing in common... a lot of speculation and attempt at interpreting words. The truth, at least IMO, is that nobody except some individuals at BD and a few in GE management know the actual facts... and I'm not quite sure that even they know everything that we think they know. As an example... look at your post. You highlight the statement from the 8K: << In fact, the Company believes that the information developed by BD&C supports the tenor of the May 22, 1998 press release. >> Your analysis appears sound, but since we're looking at the word "tenor", let's also look at the word "believes"... in other words, that would appear to be GE's equivalent to "IMO".

Understand that I am long GE and plan on staying that way. Over the years I've owned stock in many exploration companies. They're all a "crapshoot" and to me it's a simple win or lose proposition. But I, for one, am getting tired of the multitude of posts consisting of nothing but suppositions, inferences and innuendo. There's nothing wrong with "trying" to interpret a filing... in fact, IMO it's part of doing DD. But, when are we going to get back to reality and stop the personal attacks and backstabbing? Does GE have a substantial amount of gold?... IMO, yes. Can it be mined and brought to market economically? I don't know and there are too many variables including the POG. Can GE survive in it's present cash position?... again, IMO, probably yes or why would they not just closeup shop since even doing the filings cost dollars.

And now my last question. If someone does have facts (good or bad)... not innuendos as are constantly being made... why don't they simply post them?

Best always,

Marty
