Hi I2: Although it is unfair to the company, I would put in my category of "junk stock" a company that has been beaten down and has poor earnings prospects in the next several quarters. However, the company may actually be a fine company. As the past month has shown, these stocks can double quickly. In other cases, stocks that the market likes but have no earnings I would also include as junk.

Junk has to have a story so that it will respond to the market.
