Don't expect CSCO to buy and company with a substantial market cap. Chambers (CSCO's CEO)has often repeated that acquisitions of larger companies have a lower success rate than aquisitions of smaller ones. His thinking is that if CSCO buys smaller companies there is no question as to who the boss is. He once commented on the COMS/USRX and ASND/Cascade mergers as not being successful because the companies involved were too large. I can't see the rumour about CSCO even being interested in CIEN (or ASND) as having any merit. Just my 2 cents worth
