Rerun time, Mud Weasel:"So no hype, but would you want to be short and wake up one morning to SRCM announcing a liscence deal with aol, or yahoo, or @home or maybe a carriage agreement with TCI or Time Warner or Comcast or Adelphia???" So you musta been the toad that put out the rumor about the MSFT/AOL/YHOOligan buyout? What a fricken joke. Just gave us the opportunity to back up the BFI truck big time, just as the Eurotrash '98 toaur did two weeks ago. This is the pig that just keeps on giving.

As for:" With a huge short interest and small float and the mania that sometimes has done wicked things with anything internet related?" 1) This thing does not have anything internet related 2) It's an arguement for lightweights anyway. The whole internet mania is out of hand any way. SRCM is probably the weakest old lady of the bunch.

I agree that what we are buying is the technology not the numbers. But the numbers are the results of past decisions and a gauge of the efficacy of the management might be made from them. I really based my decision to short more on Friday on the conference call. I did not feel the management addressed the issues and they sounded unctuous to me. The questions seemed set up and then the moderator saying there were no more questions, bothered me. As a aside, I made the same decision on LBOR's management and so far am buried there.
I wish I had the faith that you or Pluvia and some of the others have as to the prospects of this stock. It is the same as my wife's religion- she is so sure she is right that life is easy for her. I have had that faith twice after studying companies (exchanges) and the numbers- the Nikkei puts on the Amex in 1989 and IBUY (thanks to A Goldfinger) this year. Both of those were so obvious that they were lay-ups. In all the rest of my investments I am scared to death that I have missed something. I have been rereading all the posts (including Yahoo- what a swamp pit that is!) trying to be persuaded. What I really would like is for someone from my old home town of Las Vegas to drop in at the Electronics show this week or at the San Diego conference next month and report objectively as to the prospects of the company.
