I have to disagree with you a little here Roger. Dell excels at managing their supply chain, primarily, imo. If you are including inbound logistics in your terminology "distribution" then my apologies - then I would say we agree. At any rate cpq has been unable to achieve this successfully dispite almost yearly attempts. Apple also does not manage their supply chain they simply have a BTO model. I worked a little with Power Computing in Austin and had Jobs let them survive Power would be killing Apple right now in mfg.

In any case Im sure the people here dont want to hear yet another argument on what are supply chain logistics but my position is nobody else has able to achieve the model. Well, thats what makes a horserace...
