<<Seragen practically gave the product away>> I am not so sure; I have not researched this in detail, but sounds to me as if Novartis (Sandoz) designed and developed the product themselves, but Seragen had intellectual property that covered *some* aspects of the technology. 1-5% royalties seem more typical for this kind of arrangement, but, again, I do not know much about the details.
