Hutch...
<< I neither care where gold goes, up or down. I just want it to move>>

On this we agree...except that for the short term, being long, I would like to see it move up. Perhaps, rather than being so cagey, you would be kind enough to reveal some of your strategies to us. For example. I would like to know how one can obtain accurate open interest on comex gold contracts. The site i have is 2-3 weeks old, as you indicated. Do you have trader info from the exchange or do you use a well informed commodiites broker? TIA

As for reasons on POG rising...they are few but I think, simple.

1. It is so low that mines(majors) are taking huge write downs and cutting E&P budgets and hi-grading mining operations to stay afloat. Should this continue, there will be very few mines worthy of digging in a couple of years. That should, by itself, tighten the supply demand ratio up a bit & forcing prices higher.

2. The US$ strength is crushing the US trade deficit to all times highs. The $ must fall, forcing gold price to rise by defacto.

"if it is true that the GOLD price is on the move up, than you'd see takeover of junior producers NOW. Yet.... nothing."
There have been a few just over the last couple of months: Homestake bidding for the rest of Prime Resources, Ashanti buying Samax, Glamis buying Mar West and now it looks like they are going to bid for Rayrock. I am sure there are others as well I just cannot think of any at the moment
