<grin> Actually, I have a pretty slick setup now. 256 RAM, and a 250 meg pagefile on a busmastered Maxtor 2880 attached to the primary built-in IDE controller on my abit BH6. My boot disks are two Maxtor 2880s attached to a fasttrak in a RAID 0 stripe. It purrs along quite nicely. I'm considering getting a couple of more cheap drives to make this a RAID 0/1 configuration. The fasttrak took a bit of futzing (what doesn't,) but now everything's working about like I'd want. Now I need to upgrade to a 300a from my 266, since there isn't another bottleneck in sight. :) I have an ATI AIW Pro video/tuner/capture card on the way now, which actually has pretty decent NT drivers. Couldn't resist when they cut the price from the 300s to the low 100s last month.

I've no longer got an $800 system, to be sure. But I'm pretty exciting by everything my $1500 system is doing for me. Ain't crashing component prices great? Now if only one didn't have to sent in so d_mn many rebate forms. :)
