Well, I don't know how the super-rich think Thomas, but when they sell and buy something else there's probably some reason other than boredom. The idea that Moore, Gates or Allen are so rich that they completely ignore what the current and expected future price of the stock seems silly to me.

Moore's 20M sale probably wasn't to buy a new house. Gates likes to spend big, I know, but I think he's moving the money to something he thinks is more useful when the stock is near an all-time high.

Allen is apparently reallocating into other investments in technology.

I think IBM insiders are selling because they know: "It doesn't get much better than this."
