That was a well written article but I don't know where they get their information. As one who has to go to Saudi every other quarter to fly enforcement of the no fly zone and keep up to tabs on what is going on there when someone else is taking their turn, I can assure you that we fly from Saudi every hour of every day and will until that nut Saddam is gone.

Zeev, while I might be able to see your point about initial confusion by Saddam over our ambassadors initial comments. Saddam could not mis interpret our intensions during the Gulf War preparation when we told him to get out of Kuwait or else. He did not comply and instead had illusions of granduer calling for "the mother of all battles" and forecasting millions of Americans coming home in Body bags. While sad no matter the cause, we caused more casualties among ourselves than Iraq did in aggression. Every airplane they launched to fight us was splashed within minutes. We could have finished the job the first time except the news crews started showing the carnaige we were employing on the roads leading out of Kuwait. War is ugly, and death is not as pretty as it looks on TV. The world couldn't swallow those pictures and we had to abruptly stop the war due to weak stomachs of TV viewers. Regardless, Saddam signed a UNCONDITIONAL acceptance of our terms which was full cooperation. Not once, twice but at least 3 times over these past few years yet he keeps bluffing. I am sorry but I hope we go in again and finish this thing for good and keep the camera out. Then maybe I won't have to deploy to that god forsaken sand box again.

Good Luck this week,

Lee
