>>But persevere we must to present The Truth.<<

Elaine -

There is a difference between Truth and conjecture or opinion. You have consistently failed to realize this. When you or any other writer says that this or that upcoming new technology will displace some other technology, that is a conjecture. You do not know what the sales numbers will be for the next year.

The very post in which you use the phrase "present The Truth" contains several opinions with which I or anyone else may disagree without being guilty of denying "The Truth."

"Saturated market"? Conjecture, and not supported by the fact that unit sales are increasing.

"Rudderless Market Strategy"? An opinion. The numbers will tell the story going forward. Neither you nor I knows how this will end.

"A 'Yes Man' CEO puppethead"? An opinion, and an insult to the man, which as far as I can see you are basing on very little knowledge of him.

"Tie Ratio Falling"? A statement presented as fact, but not supported by evidence.

I believe that the writers to whom you refer demonstrate a fundamental lack of understanding of technology and the computer marketplace sometimes. That is my opinion, and I am entitled to it. I disagree with some of their opinions, too, so we're even.

Take comfort if you wish when "great and very well-respected writers" agree with you. But remember that in matters of opinion and conjecture, anyone may be wrong.

- Allen

Rocky, I'm delighted that the "great and very well-respected writer" Mr. Pinson is agreeing with you, but I thought anything IOM was to do was doomed.
"This is why Iomega is caught in a meat grinder situation. If they try and fight the new Standard in Removable Drives (CD-R/RW) with lower prices, they lower margins. If they join the new Standard and offer CD-R/RW, they eat away at their own sales of higher margin Zip/Jaz. "
