Sent this to a guy who drinks morning coffee with the head of Cisco. He believes 1000% in my vision and ideas. I've tried to tell him Cisco is out to lunch with AD. He believes Novell will make a massive turn. But he's still talking to Chambers on other things. So what the heck......

I know the limitations of these forums, but I really feel that great good can come from sharing innovative concepts, positive vision and ideas that cut the edge.

I waded into Novell when the world wanted to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Best time to go against the crowd. That's why were are doing xxxxx xxxx (note, this is a technology we are developing for the securities industry). The crowd is still thinking xxxx yyyyyyy, pyramids, xxxxxxxxx, zzzzzz and zero sum games.

I love wading out into new fields and showing people how tall and green the grass is. Cows may look dumb, but they eventually find where the better grass grows.

Cisco is looking more and more like a dumb cow here. I hope they find this new grass. The use of the term Active Domains - the true functionality behind Cisco's AD effort - will make their alliance with Microsoft look very much out of place very fast.

This is kill or be killed time for Cisco and their competitors. It will be fun to watch them beat up on each other as they all try to get the upper hand in the NDS application/development race.

I'm a firm believer that DIRECTORY-BASED NDS will DESTROY ACTIVE DOMAINS.

Hope all is well.

Fred

Well, it is too bad that you think only people in Intel know how to innovate

I didn't say that. MSFT is very innovative in marketing and contracts that protect a monopoly. They re-wrote the book and will be studied by MBA's in business schools for years to come.
