This correlates very nicely and almost perfectly with what happened in 1997. The lows were established in late Oct 97 with that huge one day drop. Then the market rebounded smartly over the next month and into December. Near the end of the year, the market dipped again roughly 5% from DOW~8100 to the DOW~7700 area. There was a small rally into the new year, then a dip that ended January 98 at break-even levels. February kicked off the massive bull run all the way into the summer of 98

Will history repeat itself? If so, we have a nice roadmap to trade in and out of positions, both long and short. But, it's never that easy?
