Off the top of my head I'd say that ~~~55% of the CPUs sold last quarter were socket 7.
Intel sold 9 million Pentium Classics
AMD 3.8 million
Cyrix probably sold about 1 million
Throw in IDT, SGS Thomson and IBM. Say 1 million...

You get 14.8 million...vs about 12 million Slot 1. Not including 1.7 million Pentium Pro/Xeon.

Celerons are slot 1...
K7s are slot A. Mechanically compatable with slot 1.
