August and or Gil,

Care to make a guestimate on this question?

How many new $2000 accounts trading twice a month does it take to replace one active sizable account trading (or trying to when the system works) 4 times a day? In terms of total yearly revenue from all sources. Trade commission, order flow payments, and margin interest.

I figure the active trader account generates about $20,000 of total revenue to AMTD. And the twice a month account about $500.
So my guess is 40.

Further if 1,000 such active accounts bailed due to poor service, it would take 40,000 new accounts to replace them. So is it possible that the account growth numbers look good, but hide an ugly picture.

The falling average account $ size could be a clue. Adjusted of course for Mr. Markets take.
