Tip, Compaq still wants the distributors to push their boxes and not those of their competitors. So, they are shipping mucho into the channel. Their concept is that they keep all the market share they have in the channel and they steal share from Dell, Gateway and MUEI in direct. But I see no way where they do not compete with themselves and I see no way that a distributor does not get ticked off when he loses a sale to Compaq Direct.

As Early said in his newsletter, all the boxmakers are stuffing the channel again. Intel isn't lying. They have the orders. The point I am making is that there is no sell-through to the end user, at least not yet, and if this isn't a humdinger of a Xmas, the orders stop on a dime next quarter.
