As long as you're upfront and not trying to hype a stock there's no problem. This could be considered an information thread not a "pump the next play" thread.
At least that's the way I see it.

Yo Roberto,

RE: the netiquette. If you have any specific questions in this regard, check with Jill - the webmistress. She's straight up front and as Clark Kent says - so long as you're clear about it, there will probably be no problem. Nonetheless, Jill has the power to kick you out so you may want to clear it with her.

FWIW

I Think It Is An Excellent Idea Bob.

If folks are interested enough to post to or monitor/lurk a thread here on SI,one could only conclude they may want to be informed of any further information on that particular company or technology or business or whatever.

Where problems arise are messages/posts that may be considered.............

SPAM!!.......posting messages regarding another company etc.... on numerous threads of related or unrelated origin...or of a competitor...or a company in a legal dispute............etc......

or

SOLICITATION Self explanatory ?

or

PROMOTION That is the interpretation or opinion of the viewer(s)
and is usually exposed " in the fullness of time ".

I personally wouldn't consider a post to a thread or subject of interest informing
folks of their companies' appearance or an area of interest on the show. Also the fact they can often view same on the web site after the show etc..........

Contacting the webmeister(s) is still not a bad idea, but this is how I believe most
SI'ers would consider or respond to your messages. If there are negative responses....simply suggest they take the time to actually view the segment before evaluating the intent of your message or the quality of information.

This is the " Information Age ".Yes?

Regarding competing with SI......I would think they could clarify this as well, but,
I doubt they will have any concern considering the targeting nature of your site.

P.S. I have never considered the content of your shows to be promotional.Pat's
questions and those of the viewers tend to maintain a good balance.IMHO.

All The Best
