Hi Debra,

True, but what I was trying to establish what
%Gap and %Av Vol would give me the best chance
of a consistent daytrading profit. I am
assuming that you would stop out at
(Open - Close Yesterday)/2 or some similar
figure.

I assume you have QP2 ... I just wrote this
to run against the whole QP database. If
you have time, copy it in to the scan module
and give it a try and you will see what I mean.

:-))

John

Output="GAPTEST.lst";

If

open(0) > 1.03*Close(-1) and

open(0) < 1.08*Close(-1) and

vol(0) > 3*AvgVol(-6,-28) and

AvgVol(-6, -28) > 26000 and

vol(0) > 26000 then

println Symbol, " OPEN= ", open(0):8:3, " VOL= ", vol(0):8:3, " AVOL%= ", ((vol(0)*100)/AvgVol(-6, -28)):8:3, " GAP%= ",(((Open(0)-Close(-1))*100)/Close(-1)):8:3," MAX PROF%= ",(((High(0)-Open(0))*100)/Open(0));

endif;

The only problem when a stock is making the high for the day you don't know it is the high for the day, in the real trading world..
until the day is over..
