Good point Will! Does any body have the answer? Is anybody an authority on camera batteries?

Will, at 4MB/sec, the drive only needs to power up for a second to store a hi-res photo. The camera's electronic flash unit consumes so much juice per picture that the power draw for storage will seem small by comparison.

From IBM's web site ... "The Enhanced Adaptive Battery Life Extender 2.0 power management technology minimizes power consumption and maximizes battery life, so a microdrive can be powered by standard "AA" batteries"
