...SoftQuad Software has a solid management team and attitude....we like this company...very much...wish they had a HoTMetaL Pro 5.0 lite called Visual HoTMetaL to go up against NetObjects/DreamWeaver/Visual Page....simply attack all fronts...they should also leverage their XML expertise by authoring a plethora of XML/Web authoring/e-commerce books....they should have done this as SoftQuad Press a div. of SQI [amazingly Gurney and the Rabins failed to see this obvious and integral brand marketing strategy/preemptive strike...the Rabins should have pursued this strategy aggressively re: WebFiler, Alpha Five and now esp. ONLINE m erchant...]...they could have and still can make $millions by publishing books on HTML/XML authoring/e-commerce etc....esp given Wood, Sharpe et al...background/XML/DOM/W3c.org infrastructure...in addition to providing the Company with HUGE credibility and brand recognition for their products e.g. HoTMetaL/HMAPPS/XMetaL viz a viz 'oh yeah...they're the people who write all those books on the internet...this must be a good product'....put out/publish the SoftQuad Press Internet Series ® on XML, Web Authoring...HoTMetaL Pro....XMetaL...HMAPPS e-commerce..ad infinitum....blind the market with what could/should be standards in the industry on these subjects...and who better than the charter founding members of W3c.org...???...we are confident this was the biggest mistake this company failed to do as a div. of SQI...we have seen what QUE, et al did in the early 80's with these book series....now they are multi-hundred millionaires...why do you think there is a Microsoft Press?...to simply lock up the markets for Microsoft Office, Access, FoxPro, Excel, Word, Outlook, Visual Basic, C++, Internet Explorer, FrontPage...listen to what history and Microsoft have been telling you grasshopper...
