Gus, Glen, Steve, Sean Anyone? Partioning is unique to the DST recording format. I know that DST development was a joint effort. We know partitioning gives several distinct advantages in video applications and also in allowing precise insert or erasure without corruption of surrounding files( from what Richard said potentially important to DOD applications). Is partitioning something AXC could license? Do they have ownership of the tech and is it transferable to other tape formats? It is a well proven and valuable technique. If it could be licensed, royalties might well exceed DST sales. Just reaching for straws again. Any comments?
