Good Iraq dissertation Ike...

Eventually Saddam will be gone... One way or another... There are too many economic interests that his presence and antics stand in the way of... Add that to his threat to Mid East and World peace, and there is a formula for much discontent among various political, moral, and economic factions... He'll put his foot in his mouth again... Next time the U.S. and U.N. won't be dancing to his tune...

While I don't agree with everything Israel may do, I can appreciate their very tenuous situation... Four to six million Israeli's surrounded by over 100 million people that would be happy if Israel disappeared... What kind of a world would it have been if Israel didn't take out Iraq's Nuclear power plant in the 1980's? We probably would have had World War III compliments of Saddam...

Israel is the only true democracy in the region... While building settlements may not be politically correct, it puts a buffer between those that bomb school buses and innocent children...

Imagine if Israel had lost its two previous wars with its surrounding nations... Do you think it would be around anymore???

If I were living in Israel I would want them to have Atomic weapons up the Kazoo as a deterrent to those nations that would otherwise wipe it from the map...

With that said, I believe Yitzhak Rabin was on the right path to peace when killed by an Israeli right wing extremist... There are nuts on both sides of the mid East problem... But if the U.S. had North Korea where Canada is, and Iran and Iraq where Mexico is, and Red China where South America is, how paranoid do you think we'd be?

On the Pyramid of human needs, Survival ranks #1...
