Hey Glenn (or William) can you answer me this? I can't seem to understand..

MSDW has a strong buy rating on Amazon, yet in the private MSDW client reports Mary
Meeker suggests the sector is going down and that MSDW customers should hedge their
positions.

How can they tell their "clients" to sell, yet tell the public that Amazon is a roaringly
good buy?

Doesn't this point out that analyst recommendations are nothing more than self serving
claptrap designed to take money from the little guy?

OC,

Let's ask William to put the positive spin on it. I am sure it in some ways is fairly serving the investment community.

Well...that's sort of a negative spin on a little concept we like to call "CAPITALISM." The brokerage houses are not governmental agencies or charities...they are in the business of making money for their paying customers. If you have an account with Morgan and feel you're getting bad information I can understand your complaining. Otherwise, what's the problem?
