(OT) Thanks Ian - You, Cary, Gottfried, etc. are great! I don't have much time to get online or even research the various companies, but do have an interest in the market and the semi equips are definitely interesting. I sincerely appreciate the substantive responses I get on SI and the semi equip threads in particular. Yesterday I posted, on the Yahoo ASYT thread, what I thought was a helpful excerpt from a thread here on SI and some guy who probably has about a million handles just let me have it.

Asyst doesn't have much competition for 200mm and below, but in 300mm FOUPs there are plenty of other choices. Also, PRIA bought Equipe for a reason. Equipe has a strong presence in the market for wafer handling robots to transfer between load ports and the OEM's instruments, chambers, etc. This would suggest that PRI intends to be more than an interbay player. Re Asyst's recent announcement that they intend to play in the front end integration field and their recent purchase of Hine, another robotics company...maybe PRI will go there too. All in all it should get tougher for Asyst, but if they play it right and don't blow their name recognition advantage and repair their customer service image...
