You can find the figures in www.macevolution.com. The year over year unit sales had held steady (not falling) until this quarter which saw
a significant increase on unit sales.

>I have a friend who claims that the *total units sold* (Powerbooks, G3's, iMacs everything) is still decreasing year over year. Can this be right?<

Total *cpu* sales are up but your friend probably is confusing that with *total revenue* which is flat to marginally down.

This is because AAPL has discontinued unprofitable product lines like printers, scanners and Newtons.

The key thing is that high margin *profitable* cpu and software (OS) sales have taken up the slack of *unprofitable* peripheral sales.
