[Advanced Radio Telecom CEO Henry Hirsch Talks to The Wall Street Transcript] NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 17, 1998--The Wall Street Transcript has published an in-depth interview with Henry C. (Harry) Hirsch of Advanced Radio Telecom, in which he talks at length about his company, a facilities-based broadband Internet Service Provider (ISP). He explains, "Today we are a company that has changed its strategy. We're going to build on the assets that were created by the company in the past. We've got the right strategy, and a top-notch group of people. We are moving as quickly as possible because we know that time is of the essence. We've built our own ISP platform and are providing high-speed dedicated internet services. Our beta test went very well and we have initiated commercial service here in Seattle." He says, "We have a wonderful partnership with Lucent Technologies, whereby Lucent is going to be the total network systems integrator for ART. This means we don't have to be preoccupied with building a network, and that we've reduced the execution risk of building out our network." He adds, "The biggest advantage we have in using wireless technology is that you get the capacity and quality of fiber transmission, from a wireless path engineered to 99.999 percent reliability. We are engaged in an educational process to make sure people understand the benefits of broadband wireless technology." He says, "My long-term vision for ART is that it becomes a new overlay network, combining broadband wireless with fiber technology. This will position the company to provide a full range of broadband communications and advanced applications to the vast majority of the commercial businesses in this country. No one can do that today. It is a wonderful opportunity for ART." To read the complete interview, go to twst.com . It requires Adobe Acrobat(tm) reader to view the document.
