Philips has also kept in touch (although not as much recently) with the user community in general, not just the big reference sites, through the NY Oracle Users group and other local user organizations. In the past, Chuck has come back from meetings with Oracle management to say to the Users Group, "This is what they said, what do you think?".

I shouldn't put Phillips and Sherlund in the same camp either. Truth to tell, Sherlund got lucky. Keep in mind that he did now change his estimate when he lowered the recommendation.

Phillips is nicknamed at MS "machine man" for his tirelessness in pursuit of information and clarification. He has my admiration, which few do.
