Yes, you are correct, a key and an encryption scheme are required. But, this 'application' is already built-in and it somehow is 'smart' enough to know about the type of data being stored/read. I store files.... ASCII or binary data on media. What is unique about the music/video data that allows the drive(?) to know whether I'm going to play the music or bit read it to copy to my harddrive?
