Venkie: There's nothing wrong with what you're contemplating and you shouldn't feel that you have to justify it. Dell is a stock, not a religion. I would do the same thing if I were you, hell, I would have done it last week. Your life and the things you can do with the profit are more important than squeezing every last nickel out of it.

Just my two cents. I'll sell anything if the price is right.

It's not really money unless you sell the stock. You are not alone, in your thinking. DELL will back, just not as strong as before. It will take time to restore the damage, and replace investors.

Hi Donnie,..Re:.I am considering selling 25 % more of my Dell today if it hits 65.

Good going Donnie. Nothing wrong with taking a profit. I was also thinking of unloading some on strength in the next few days to be able to take advantage of some other prospects and to lock in profits.

Good luck on your new house. I forgot about granite kitchen counters when we discussed options earlier, but I see your wife didn't. That's great and another of the items I would definitely want. Sounds exciting. Hope you're having fun.

As for the boat, depending on the size of the lake, you might have fun with a 16' day sailboat. We had one previously, named Raz ma Taz and it was lots of fun. If it's a big lake, 6-800 miles of shoreline and good depth, a bigger sailboat is also great fun. (did that too in Va.)

Thanks for your posts,

Lee

<<<<I am considering selling 25 % more of my Dell today if it hits 65..I am a dell bull but bldg this new house the way my wife
wants..requires much cash..i haven't sold the home I have now so I will be paying construction cost with my normal house payment..plus 2 new cars ..harley..ect.ect..I would like to have a cash stock pile for day-trading..I will still have plenty of Dell >>>
No problem. Donnie, a time to sow, a time to reap.
Will soon make changes myself. I started 1995 expecting to have $900 mo. SS and $400/ mo (with luck) from investments. Hoped to be able some day to afford a used airplane($15K), or a used MBZ SL($12k).
At end of 1996 I was up by $65k on Dell, in 1997 by $200k and kept adding to Dell holdings. I have enough leaps now to expect 100k or 200k per year income. This is outrageous, discombubulating, and if anyone (in 1995) had told me it could happen I would have told him to get stuffed. I've got to check around with people, see what a good limit is. Meanwhile, for high gains, Dell seems seems the best to own. Csco, msft, mrk, wmt,hd,pretty solid. Web stocks risky but fun.
So do what is required to get comfortable and still stay along for the ride. Hey, you build a house and first thing you know the little woman wants new furniture, maybe a real bed, curtains ..........Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh.<G>
