This is good news for both Nortel and Ascend. If Williams long distance service really takes off, it will increase William's need
for Ascend ATM switches right along with the Nortel voice switches. Because the DMS-250 Class 4 switches have an ATM OC-3 interface, it'll be easy for Williams to connect them to Ascend's ATM (both existing and future installs). It could mean a lot of $$$ for Ascend.

I hope that your post wasn't meant to imply that Nortel got any of the
Williams ATM switching $$$. Nortel doesn't have any products to compete with Ascend's CBX500 or GX550.
