Brian, AMAT followers, from the AMD thread, an analyst's (Sutro's) summary of Intel's analysts meeting last Friday. Mentioned 300 mm, 0.18 and copper. Intel only aggressively going after 0.18. Feels others not necessary yet (or want to save $$ or both) for their roadmap. Note that I have INTC and AMAT.

Brian, SFAM suffers...
>Semiconductor chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) systems designer SpeedFam International (Nasdaq:SFAM - news) hit a speed bump and fell $1 to $15 11/16 after the company said slower sales will result in a fiscal Q2 loss between $0.25 and $0.29 per share, worse than the loss of $0.12 per share expected by analysts.
NationsBanc Montgomery Securities lowered its rating to "hold" from "buy" on Friday, citing increased competition in the CMP area from
capital equipment heavyweight Applied Materials (Nasdaq:AMAT -
news)

Dear Brain,

The InP 350 GHz transitor is very interested to me. Do you have
a preprint of the article or would you please give me the name
of the author? Thanks

Chin
