MANHASSET, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 16, 1998--CMP Media's Computer Reseller News has named Michael Dell, chairman and chief executive of Dell Computer Corp. DELL as the most influential executive in the computer industry. The technology newspaper published its 16th annual Top 25 Executives ranking in today's special Comdex/Fall trade show issue (November 16).

Dell, who has appeared on previous Top 25 lists, moved to the top this year because his company's success "has brought manufacturing and inventory costs squarely to the forefront of the computer industry and reseller channel and caused (competitors such as) IBM, Compaq and others to squeeze whatever costs they can out of their production process to remain price competitive."
