We are talking here about every media type that gets displayed. And a new tag that would need to be a standard tag, not a custom extension, so therefor standard committees, etc. Sounds like a Netscape job to me. Why am I wrong? What I'm suggesting is that the capability might be already supported in the new layout engine. All it might need is a new tag to go along with it. Since the source is available for you to hack, you could add the new tag. As far as making it a standard, good luck.
