And how would we get our money back?

Hi Folks,
When you come up with an idea give me a ring.Until then here is my 2 cents.I have 8 web sites and that is the easy part. Getting visitors to a site is the real challenge. Using EBay or another auction may work as they are drawing tons of people.I like web sites and have been trying to make some spending money selling something. One thing you must have is a site that loads fast or there gone before you get started . On your question of credit cards ,there are many services out there and I have avoided using one until I know they will be cost effective. I have a retail store and ask my cyber customers to call there and I will process their credit card as a catalogue order. This is not the greatest idea but I am not going to pay a processing fee if I don't get any sales and I have heard they want a yearly contract. I am starting to get some hits on one of my sites (800/day) but still no sales. This has to mean ......wrong product, price or they don't feel safe . Who knows, I just bought my first pc 18 months ago and am still searching for right formula. you have a good thread here and we should learn ........lets share ideas.
PS:
I was at your site and took your pic for a size reduction. I took it from 130 kb to 30kb.......big savings for a little quality loss.
Here it is if you want to use it, I will leave it here for a few days.

Lamar,

I am in the process of setting up an Internet store on Galaxy Mall to market my book, that I have described to you in another message. Within about 10-15 working days, my store will be functional and will be able to accept Visa and Master Charge for my $7 book, on an online real-time basis.

It has cost me $799, not including the monthly charges of having my orders processed (about $50 a month). And this does not include the annual cost of hosting my Internet store on Galaxy Mall.

But my book at a cost of $7.00 is an impulse item, so I have to be able to accept credit cards on an online real-time basis.

When you visit my store, when it is ready, and were you to try to buy my book with a credit card that wasn't valid, expired, or over the limit, you would receive a message saying provide another card, as this one is not acceptable.

Hope this gives you some info on accepting credit cards on the Net

Lamar,

Here's a way to make a fortune on the internet: Probably illegal.

1. Buy one of those 1,000,000 name email lists.
2. Pick 5 stocks which are volatile, and mail 200,000 names with a recommendation to buy one of the stocks, sending each group of 200k a different pick.
3. The next day, take the group of 200,000 with the biggest daily gain, and break it down into 5 groups of 40,000 each. Recommend 5 more stocks.
4. On the 3rd day, take the stock which did the best, and break that group into 5 groups of 8,000 each. Mail 5 more picks.
5. On the 4th day, do 4 groups of 2000.
6. On the 5th day, do 4 groups of 500.
7. On the following Monday (day 6), offer the group of 500 with the best result, a "special" pick for only 5 bucks. Take the group who responds, and break it into 4 groups. (assume 200 people responded - $1000). Send each of 4 groups of 50 each a "special" pick.
8. For the 50 with the best result, offer an "incredible opportunity" pick at $20.00.

Anyway, keep upping the ante to the remaining groups... They'll all think you are psychic.

We'll visit you in Sing-Sing.
