MELVILLE, N.Y., Nov. 13 / Andrea Electronics Corporation (AMEX: AND) announced today that the Company can offer users of any audio peripheral the advantages of Universal Serial Bus (USB) compatibility with its newly developed USB-PCA (Universal Serial Bus Personal Computer Audio) interface technology. The Company's USB-PCA interface technology can be integrated into or used with audio input and connectivity products to transform them into USB-compliant peripherals, which can combine with the power of USB-ready PCs to elevate the coming generation of computing to a new level of versatility, performance and ease of use.
Andrea Electronics' introduction of its first USB technology comes at a strategically important time, when emerging applications, such as speech recognition, Internet telephony, videoconferencing and computer telephony integration, are advancing and multiplying so rapidly that they are pushing PC peripheral port capacity to the limit. As a solution, Andrea Electronics' USB-PCA technology provides a cost-effective, convenient means by which audio peripheral users can achieve better, simpler "plug-and-play" port capacity.
