Things are getting confusing. DPMI rated to grow 84% yet has 6 out of 9 analysts giving it a hold rating and none a strong buy. MASK rated to grow 20% yet 2 out of 6 analysts rate it a strong buy and the other 4 rate it a moderate buy. Why the discrepancy? Either the growth numbers are backward or the ratings are wrong. I don't trust analysts to predict growth or earnings numbers.

The article from Electronic news was even more confusing. Ultratech, with a new e-beam system to promote, pegs the market next year at 80 systems and says that ETEC can only make 20 or 30 systems. ETEC says they could have made 40 systems this year if the demand was there and they will have more capacity next year and thinks they can meet all demand in 99. Who is right? My guess is ETEC knows the market better than anyone (they have 80%) so it sounds like Ultratech is blowing smoke. Either way, if the article is right about mask demand, anyone who can make .25 mask will be running full out and making money. Looks like the whole group will be a buy.
