I wouldn't expect cryo-cooling to be used in mainstream mission-critical applications unless speed was way more important than reliability.

This is from memory, no hyperlinks. A few years ago a company (I think one of Gene Amdahl's) took an IMB S/390 mainframe CMOS CPU and chilled it to liquid nitrogen (I think) temps.
