I also thought SI had a problem. Spent a terrible night pondering the lack of information or opinions. Saw two comets @6 am then saw Hughes telecom ad ( nice )on CNBC. No new thoughts re WCII.

"I too couldn't believe the non-reaction reaction.

Hi David, it's because I was pissed that you stole my idea and then put SteveG in charge and my boss. (Just kidding, David :-))

"I wonder if there's any opportunity here for the little guy in the second and third tier type cities (those that will be ignored by WInStar and Teligent for years, if not forever). If I could buy up licenses around me for cheap, get Lucent to fund and perform the buildout, I'll run it for a few years with virtually no competition, and then sell out for big bucks to WinStar. Hummm, anybody interested in starting a broadband wireless company???? I know we got some good expertise on this thread, and we're pretty well spread out across the country, we could start our own nationwide broadband wireless ... :-)"

I still think the 39 GHz auction would be the better one to bid at. More spectrum in many more markets. And it may be easier to sell out and integrate into WinStar's network. And more time to get ready.

I suppose I can handle working for Steve as long as I get to handle the money. And if we can keep Frank around, we'll have three of the best minds I've seen anywhere around SI (including Bernard and SteveG, of course).

Later,
Steve

Dreamweaver,

You've put together an impressive wireless dream team. Just wanna make sure I can get in on a nice block of shares before we go IPO.

Regards,
mazman

ps. Is there a spot open on the company softball team? I play a mean 2nd base (except when my trick knee acts up). I would also willingly volunteer to be the sommelier in the executive dining room. <VBG>

The critical link will be getting our legal counsel Ed to take enough long vacations.

(And we could lose the titles and just co-op the responsibilitites, though you HAVE found a way to quiet everyone for 24 hours)

Fun post, David.

DW -

Agreed. Personally I believe that my natural cheery nature, my optimistic outlook and the joie de vivre that I bring to everyday life espcially the markets qualified me at least for a board position (even a minor one assuming there were good pension rights).

Regards,

L

DreamWeaver,
After considering your offer, and my current employment status. (The silver plated handshake effective 12/31/98) I would be delighted to join the team.
