I sent an email to the company that makes Pocket BiteMate on 11/15/98 describing MicroOS as NCII has described it in their news releases. On 11/16/98 I got this response: "...We already have optimized use of flash memory."

However, they are interested in knowing more details about MicroOS. I erased the email that I sent so I am not sure about whether or not I actually used the words MicroOS or Norris Communications. I think I just described its capabilities and asked whether or not it would improve their product. They asked me some questions that I cannot currently answer. It seems that I am not the only person who thinks the news releases on MicroOS are a bit vague.

I can't seem to get answers to all of my questions on this thread so I am trying different approaches. I have sent about ten emails out to companies that make solid state devices and flash cards. I have also emailed several authors of articles about the memory market.

Last night I started reading NCII's profile on FreeEdgar. I think that will help me to understand this company and its product.

Savant, in that article about the Pocket BiteMate on newswire.com entitled "Capturing Daily Sound Bites" the following statement is made:

"The 400 and 800 models have 4 MB (20 minutes short play, 50 minutes long) and 8 MB (40 minutes, 100 minutes) of memory, for the price, respectively, of US$200 and $300."

From that statement it appears that the the Pocket BiteMate stores a maximum of 12.5 minutes of data per megabyte. It would appear that the Pocket BiteMate would benefit by having the Norris Flash File System. It claims to be able to store 18 minutes of data per MB.

DOES NCII HAVE A MARKETING DEPARTMENT ?!?!
