Channel Conflicts ... having owned a company which was a VAR/Channel in both hardware and software and services I understand well the Channels these natural emotions and concerns.

EP's/CPQ's MOST important concepts/statements are ...

"It (CPQ) is a company that now has the total customer relationship. This move was obviously our strategy to move to a global enterprise solution and services company. ... it is all about managing the total opportunity.".

CPQ is making great efforts to alleviate the Channel's concerns ... the Channel's initial kneejerk reactions are expected. In time the Channel will accept CPQ's philosophy and actions, as long as, CPQ follows through with its promises to the Channel. The Channel partners WILL be big winners by continuing to promote/support CPQ ... for CPQ is a MAJOR player in the IT marketplace, CPQ's impact on IT will only grow overtime and the Channel will gleen more opportunities towards their own benefit.

From recent EP interviews and yesterday's COMDEX keynote speech ... CPQ is all out focused on its future and is now aggressively implementing its well thought-out and planned strategies !!

CPQ longs are going to benefit big time for a long time.
