Mohan,

It looks like you may be correct. EP was trying to rough up MD with the recent coordinated attack on DELL stock and prospects. But it looks like the lashing out was due to his own pique rather than a sustainable strategic insight.

Meanwhile, DELL is counterattacking in the services arena where CPQ is vulnerable. If DELL can bring new economies and efficiencies to the delivery of quality services to the customer then their margins will go up and the customers will flock to them. Services are CPQ's highest margin business. THey are very vulnerable because they are using an obsolete service delivery model.

Watch out CPQ!
