Up volume like this usually means some sort of news is about to be released. Looks like buying is still going on.

Alan: In the post I'm responding to, you mentioned that Bob Bemer "was not an impressive guest". Well, that got Bob's attention. Since he's not a member of SI, he can't communicate with you directly, so he sent me the following email. Perhaps you can answer some of his questions?

Post 9353 advised me that Alan Coccio thinks I was not an impressive guest on a DC radio show last Saturday. I would surely like to improve my style, but have no means of asking Mr. Coccio how I fell short, and how he would have me improve. I'd like to know:
o Did I downplay the problem?
o Did I overhype the problem?
o Is my short story plot thin?
o Did I not suggest that the lady first check the super to see if the elevator could be switched to manual if power was still available? In her situation I would not decline to use stairs, even at my age. Down is easier, anyway.
o What fireworks or new disasters should I have touted?
o Should I have said that at first I thought Y2K was a very serious problem, but now that de Jager and Gartner have defected from the hard line I see the error of my ways?
o Should I have said that PCs now being manufactured are certainly 100% compliant, instead of the probably 85% that I quoted?

I guess I'm glad not to be impressive. Else the switchboard may have burned out, instead of being totally lit as it was when the show time expired.
