OK, I'll go out on a limb and say that the Fed will hold rates unchanged. Why? For the following reasons:

1. Asia and South America are showing signs of improvement.
2. The risks of default with certain hedge funds has abated.
3. The Fed has a bias towards inflation fighting and that hasn't changed.
4. The U.S. economy remains relatively strong.

So the news this afternoon will read--Fed holds rates unchanged.

P.S. Newbridge can use a rate cut, the stock is not performing well lately. Investors are taking a wait and see attitude with respect to the upcoming earnings.
