Sorry, Ignore me, it's just Yahoo! withdrawl.

Sleeman's is a good story. Three key components:

1) Beer Meisters - Among The Best.
2) Marketing - Simple, open and honest (Oh, what a relief!)
3) Growth - Bite before being bitten.

My point on "pick up" cycles is related to the consumption habits of Leaf Lovers et al. In my mind, sales are best during the heat. This can be the heat of battle (ala Leafs and Habs), the heat of the sun (ala Cold One on the Dock) and the heat of competition (ala product giveaways and price reductions).

I guess my point is Sleeman's is both a growth and commodity story. Growth has dominated much of it's recent past. One needs to be careful of swinging pendulums.

PS I was considering this for Maple_Leaf17 22online.com but taped my hands.

PPS I bet Eric Molson wished he had more carefully considered Mickey Cohen's inaugural words. It was something like "I hate beer, like wine though".

PPPS The changing of the Leafs into the same division as the Habs should renew "The Rivalry" and may also spur competitor brands.

Good Morning, Richard

In today's National Post, you will find a big spread on the draining war in the suds market. Tried to find it online but not successful.

It's in the FP, Perspective Section (Nov 18th - page C8).

I noticed the ERSI results. Will post a note on that thread later.
